Perfectly valid points !
We'll revamp the species picker in q1 since there are a few stuf I'm quite unhappy with too ...
so yeah excellent points !
I'll also add some level of quantification (one / some / many / school)
If you think of anything else that would make sense, now's the time !
Also we currently display species, but I feel like even when looking at local species (taken from the occurrence data we share with iobis) it's super messy and hard to use - any idea on how to make a better sort ?
it's possible :)
anything special that should be doable with those fields to make them useful ? (sorting... ) or just having them there is enough ?
this is indeed been on the todo for a long time ...
I can enable that for you easily though :) (just open a support ticket with the email u wanna use as login)
any additional fields a snorkeler/apneist would need in your opinion ? i..e max depth, max bottom time... ?
makes sense – let’s see how we can integrate that :)
Good points :)
"Hall of fame" should be coming next week - I'll make sure those are in :)
btw : noted that Vimeo is a feature request ;)
it's actually already there ! we support youtube, facebook and dailymotion - just copy paste the url of the video in the picture tab and click add... and that's it :)
let me know if that works for you
well - cool :)
Probably around end of august for the first widgets:)
We're planning a set of widgets
* overview of your profile and spots your dives
* details of a given dive
that will be js embeddable snipplets ... sounds like your request right ?
Darn - u're right !
I fixed it on production - sorry :(:(
and thanks for letting us know so fast :/
Hi Dennis :)
1) your private notes are private - just go check the same page after you logged out - you won't be seeing your notes :) . But since you're logged and the notes belong to you - well you can see them :)
2) private and public notes : not a bad idea :)
all my apologies again for that :/
I'll do 100 pushups :D
sorry about that :(
It's now fixed in production !
I also linted your dives so let me know if FB updated them with no comments as it shoudl
Sorry again for the hassle :(AdminDiveboard team (Admin, Diveboard) shared this idea ·
@joao thanks for the note
ADs are not going to happen - I do not want ads on the site :) it's not eye candy, it's not bringing value for the user :D
Gamification : it's been on the list for a while - but it's hard to find a reward system that's valid beyond the initial launch hype - I'd love to hear your thoughts on that
invites : good idea :)
freebies : good idea :)
facebook : arrr I know ! just takes so much time :(
also any advice on what would be the most effective way to promote diveboard in your opinion would be much appreciated :)
widgets are planned for august with a link to your profile and a stats digest, also dive details widgets will be available to add to blog posts or other stuff
banners logo and buttons - makes sense to have them available somewhere too
let me know if u think of anything else that would be cool!
We'll be testing our first ad in Dive UK in August (but those don't come cheap - so we'll need to start actually monetizing with the offering for dive shops before we can afford much more of those), and as for promotion it's indeed mostly word of mouth at the moment - so don't hesitate to spread the word around !
That would be a nice feature, but probably hard to implement.
Besides, if you have suggestions that make sense for everyone, maybe we could take them into account directly (that would be easier for us than a generic customization tool!).
What exactly would you like to be able to customize ?
Could it be only to be able to enter rich text for the 'About me' section ?
Would you like to add other elements (which one) ?
Would you like to change the position of the existing elements ?
now it's far from easy to create a smooth link between each other's dive ... but definitely gonna be thinking about this
bigger map makes sense,
interface with google maps... what do you mean since it *is* google maps
import/export ... not sure i see the point of that : unless you have a database of spots in that format laying around
This is awfully late :( the logging works but is still ugly … so it’s gonna be around mid-august
sorry for the delay :(
late :/ but feel free to give a hand (since the app is opensource... ):)
we're aiming at sth before june 15th (when I go for some scuba holidays - so I want it on my phone)
We definitely plan to have that kind of information displayed on Diveboard some day.
The good news is that the plugin already exports these information from your watch to our database : this means that you’ll have nothing more to do once we decide how we display these information on the dive pane !
technically, the data is already pulled and in the database - thing is the render of that data has not been implemented yet - it's definitely on our list ... but probably for july (we have a couple heavy stuff in the pipe at the moment that we need to deliver ... )
the good news is you won't need to re-upload your dives ;)
thanks , it's an excellent idea - I was about to make an internal tool for that... but i should make a public one actually !
I'm working on the spot moderation atm but this is definitely coming next
well I thought the mobile app would be doing that - ... not enough ?
yay ! thanks for the report ! :)
Hi David, you're not the first to ask (hirvoksi requested that one too if I'm correct) - makes sense so we'll add that to the backlog and planify it :)
Starting next week (most probably) with a proper bulk picture manager tab :)
For your information, we're currently adding the ability to upload pictures directly to Diveboard without using flickr or any other. After that we'll add a 'picture management' tool to be able to drag/drop pictures among dives. And still after, it's planned to see how we can have pictures not linked to logbooks or linked to trips.
I kind of like the idea of having a 'cover album' for each trip, but it might be quite a long way from here if we want to make it nice and clean...
We could make a "common pictures" section where common pictures are repeated on each logbook entry I guess... would that make any sense ?
we've had this idea for a while - thanks for putting it back under the spotlights !
I'll +1 it :)
We have to see how this articulates with us providing picture storage (this has been requested a lot and will be delivered soon)
